Both are equally exciting. But a day cruise costs less than an overnight cruise of course! A day cruise is full of visual splendour and activities but an overnight cruise gives you the opportunity to explore the beauty of pristine pollution-free night sky. Plus, the quietness which you can never have in city life and not to mention, spending undisturbed time with your loved one in the silence.
Anytime is a great time for spending great moments in a houseboat. But of course, in a country like India with predominance of summer, October to March is the best time. But if you love the rainy season, we specially advice is to hire a cruise during peak monsoon (June to September) in the backwaters area. You will never forget the experience.

Usual check-in and check-out timing of most of the houseboat is 12 noon. Government rules insist that the houseboats should be anchored by 5:30 pm.
Day cruises: 10:30 am to 5 pm.
Overnight cruises: 12 noon am to 9.30 am (21 hours 30 mins)

Primarily, Byways serve authentic Kerala cuisine
There are welcome drinks, lunch, tea/coffee with snacks, dinner and breakfast, which are included in the package cost.
You can also buy fresh fish like Jumbo prawns, Pearl Spot (called Karimeen in Malayalam), Crabs etc. directly from the local fisherman and then the chef will prepare it for them in the houseboat kitchen.
